About FedCDO

The Federal Chief Data Officers (FedCDO) association is a working group composed of members who serve the role of the Chief Data Officers (CDO/EDEs) for U.S. government and related organizations.  FedCDO serves as a place for members to learn from each other and put our expertise to the greatest use.

FedCDO members are the senior-most leaders of data and analytics in their respective organization.  While some carry the title of Chief Data Officer (CDO), others are "de facto CDOs", sporting an array of titles.  Members represent themselves and are not representing their organizations.

Our mission is to promote policies and programs that advance the data and information management profession in the Federal government.  We seek to provide a non-profit, vendor-neutral meeting place for Federal government data executives to:

  • Collaborate and communicate about policies that impact data and information management,
  • Advocate for government needs in credentialing and education programs for data and information management,
  • Advance the adoption of professional credentials for data and information management in the Federal government, and
  • Conduct data management-related research and develop briefs or other products.
